Door-to-door sales can be a great summer for the right student, but it should be an informed yes. Here are the practical details applicants and parents usually ask about before the culture sections.

Commission only

No hourly wage and no draw. Earnings scale with work ethic, coachability, consistency, and how long you stay in the fight. There is no ceiling, and there is no guaranteed number.

Commission is uncapped. Earnings depend entirely on effort, coachability, and consistency. Top reps earn a full year of income in a single summer. Reps who quit early earn less. We're transparent: the ones who dig in when it's hard make the most.
Q.02 Do I need sales experience to apply? +
No. Most of our first-year reps have zero sales experience. Our world-class Bootcamp Training, daily role play, and ride-alongs with top reps are built to take someone from zero to a closing rep. We hire for coachability and character over resume.
Q.03 Where does Benta recruit from? +
We recruit primarily from Rexburg, Idaho and Provo, Utah, including students from BYU-Idaho and BYU. Reps travel to multiple cities during the summer season.
Q.04 How long is the summer program? +
The sales season runs through the summer. Mentorship continues year-round with monthly 1:1s, quarterly leadership cohorts, reading circles, and open access to senior leadership.

We help reps coordinate housing in the cities we work each summer. Specifics like group housing versus individual lease, who pays, and what's included all depend on the year and the city you're assigned to. Q.07 Are there any upfront costs to join? +
There is no application fee. Like any door-to-door sales role, there are some real day-to-day expenses every rep encounters: transportation, basic gear, a background check, and licensing where state law requires it. We walk through every one of these on the recruiter call, before you commit. We don't hide costs.
Q.08 What does the first week look like, and when do I get paid? +
Your first two to three weeks are intensive Bootcamp: pitch practice, role play, and ride-alongs with top reps. You start knocking paying doors as soon as you and your manager agree you're ready. Because this is commission-only, your first paycheck timing depends on the pay cycle of the season you're hired into, which we cover in onboarding. There's no draw or hourly wage. The reps who lean into training the hardest in week one earn the most over the summer.
Q.09 What's a realistic earnings range? +
We won't quote you a specific number, because anyone in this industry who guarantees one is selling you. Honestly: top reps clear a full year of typical college income in a single summer. Average reps make a solid summer's earnings, meaningfully more than most hourly summer jobs. Reps who quit early or skip training earn less. Earnings here scale with effort, coachability, and consistency. There is no draw and no ceiling.
Q.10 Is Benta a religious organization or only for LDS reps? +
Benta is not a religious organization. We recruit primarily from Rexburg and Provo, including BYU-Idaho and BYU students, so a meaningful share of our team comes from an LDS background. We welcome reps from any background or faith. The culture bar is hard work, leadership, and looking out for each other. Full stop.
Q.11 What's the daily schedule like? +
Door-to-door is a long-day job by design. Mornings are training: role play, gameplans, accountability. Afternoons and early evenings are on the doors. Nightly debrief. We protect Sundays. You'll have downtime, but the summer is built to push you. If you came here for a relaxing summer, this isn't it. If you came here to grow, you'll get there.
